Scholarship Beginnings
In the fall of 2015, Gina, Brenna, and Kendall ran the Denver Rock and Roll Marathon in Beau’s Memory and had people sponsor them, raising funds for our first scholarship. Then this past summer of 2016, Rosie’s Diner in Monument, Colorado (Beau’s hometown) donated the proceeds from their annual car show to the Beau Begier Memorial Foundation for the scholarship. This type of generosity is overwhelming and allows us to continue helping students at Palmer Ridge High School in Beau’s memory.
We are excited to report the scholarship is now in full swing and we awarded our first scholarship in May, 2016.
Who is the scholarship for?
At this time, the scholarship is offered to Palmer Ridge High School seniors. The Beau Begier Memorial Scholarship is not only available to students who traditionally qualify for academic scholarships, but also students who may have not taken school so seriously in their early years of high school and, therefore, may not have the academic standing to qualify for traditional academic scholarships. The scholarship is also not limited to traditional degree programs. Students who are going to attend a vocational program or pursue a professional certification are eligible for the scholarship.

As part of the scholarship application, students are required to write an essay explaining what it was that caused them to realize they needed to focus and what it is they want to do with the scholarship.
